Service

Whole-Home Rewires & New Construction Wiring to final trim.

From bare studs to final trim.

Rewires & New Construction

Houston electricians for rewires & new construction.

Some houses weren't built for what Houston homes run today. Knob-and-tube, cloth-insulated wire, and aluminum branch circuits show up constantly in older Pasadena and East End stock — and "just add another breaker" is how you invent a fire. Chosen 1 Electric rewires homes and wires new construction from bare studs through trim-out.

Additions, garages, and detached shops get the same treatment: underground or overhead feeds, sub-panels, and circuits laid out for tools, welders, and future EV charging. When the main service is undersized, we fold in a panel upgrade instead of pretending the old 100A can take it.

For day-to-day device work without a full rewire, start with our residential electrician page.

What's included

What this service actually covers.

  • Whole-home rewires

Room-by-room or whole-structure replacement of obsolete wiring, with drywall patches coordinated or left for your finisher. Smoke/CO devices brought up to current code.

  • New construction rough-in & trim

Homes, ADUs, and light commercial shells — boxes, home runs, and panel set at rough; devices and fixtures at trim. We work to the GC's schedule.

  • Garages, shops & outbuildings

Underground feeds, sub-panels, 240V tool circuits, and shop lighting. See trenching and shop-power photos in the gallery.

  • Aluminum & cloth remediation

Targeted circuit replacement or full rewire depending on condition. We document what's staying and what's going so insurers and inspectors aren't guessing.

When to call

Signs you need this crew.

Not sure if it's this service or something adjacent? Tell us what you're seeing — we'll point you to the right scope, whether that's this page or another under all services.

  • A home inspection flagged knob-and-tube, cloth wire, or aluminum branches
  • You're opening walls for a remodel and want the wiring done right while it's accessible
  • A garage or shop needs real power — not an extension cord from the house
  • An addition needs a sub-panel and home runs before insulation
  • Breakers trip constantly and troubleshooting points to undersized, aged wiring
How it works

From first call to labeled finish.

  1. Survey & scope

We map existing wiring, open strategic access points, and write a scope: full rewire vs. targeted circuits vs. new-construction rough. Contact us with inspection reports if you have them.

  2. Rough-in

Boxes, cable/conduit, grounding, and panel work — inspected before walls close. New services coordinate with the utility.

  3. Trim & label

Devices, fixtures, final inspection, and a panel schedule. Same finish bar as every other Chosen 1 job.

FAQ

Questions we get on rewires & new construction.

Do I have to rewire the whole house?

Not always. Targeted circuit replacement can fix the worst offenders. If cloth or aluminum is widespread, a whole-home rewire is usually cheaper than stacking half-measures — we'll show both paths.

Can you work with my builder or remodeler?

Yes. We rough and trim to the GC's schedule and show up for inspections. Clear scopes keep change orders from eating the budget.

Do you trench for shop power?

Yes — underground conduit to detached shops and outbuildings, including coordination with irrigation and other utilities when we know where they are.
